News 2007 - August

Friends

We have gone through the Election successfully, although there was a lot of tension and violence. But, the Election went through free, fair and credible. The Commissioner has been honest and God fearing.

It will take two weeks to get the complete result. They are now reading the scores/ counting the votes by constituncies. At the moment, our Party is leading and we hope he will win. There are eight Presidential candidates. Only one person will take the seat. If we have a re-run it will take almost 6 weeks more. You can check the Election result on this website: www.necsierraleone.org

We are praying that everyone will accept the result when it is announced, with no violence.

The person who will become President has to get 55% of the vote if not there will be a second rounds; ie a re-run of those candidates with the two highest amounts of votes. The prices of food have shot up. Rice was 50,000 Leons a bag but now it is 100,000.

So, I am appealing if there is any way you guys can help so that I can buy food to go around and share with my pastors and the Sportslife team.

It is difficult at this time - nothing seems to be moving. People are afraid to bring in anything.

Thanks for understanding.

Stay Blessed
