News 2007 - February
Dear Brethren,
The tension is building, the election is just behind the corner. Registration started yesterday and it would end on the 18th march. Many bad things are happening. Children are going missing especially girls, they are using them for sacrifice to help them for the election.
All the three main candidates are Church going Christians. No muslims this time. I am acting as the chaplain to one of the parties. I organise prayer meetings with them and also have the opportunity to talk with them and share the gospel with them. I am intending to move to the other parties as well. I am moving around Churches, clubs and organizations encouraging them to get involved in the process. People don't want to vote. Things are difficult, they don't believe anyone.
On the 31st of March we will be having our inter-church athletics competition. Every thing is set for it. A good thing: the presidential candidate I am praying with decided to help with the competition in March. I am inviting all of them to come and grace the occasion. We look forward to enjoying it. The purpose of this competition is EVANGELISM, FELLOWSHIP, RECREATION FOR CHURCHES and SITING AND DEVELOPING TALENT.
Please pray for wisdom as I work among them. Sports Life. The churches are doing fine, I am just coming from Kono to get them involved in the political process. To see and supervise the work.
The two schools are growing wonderfully. Education is such a vital and necessary aspect for the development and stability of this nation.
This is the first election after peace came back to Sierra Leone. It is very important and necessary that you pray. I will continue to keep you updated as to progress.
Stay Blessed
