DEAR FRIENDS OF C3MSL
Greetings to all in Jesus’ name!
We praise God for successfully taking us through another three months in His Service. We hasten to acknowledge here that all that we are and all that we have achieve is through and by His power. He has been our strength and refuge, an ever present help in trouble times.
Indeed we realize, this past period, that we can never say we have done enough for the Lord for surely the harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few.
The challenge for church planting growth and leadership in Sierra Leone is increasing by the day. Many people are turning to the Lord Jesus for hope in their despair of widowhood, as orphans, amputees, homelessness etc. Many need to receive and give forgiveness and are only now realizing that this can only be possible if they first receive the forgiveness of Jesus. C3MSL is strategically positioning herself to face this challenge. With your partnership this will certainly be achieved.
POINTERS FOR PRAISE
- To God for his continues favours and blessings in expanding the ministry in such a short time. Two new churches have been established in the Kono district. We now have five churches in the district.
- To all our friends especially in the UK for their continuous prayer and financial support. For their support in opening a website for the mission. This has exposed our ministry to many people and opportunities. The address is www.c3m.info The St. Andrew Community Meima Church and School Project is virtually complete, except for some minor additions. The school was opened on the 20th September with its first intake of 150 children between the ages of 4-6 years. Almost all of them are entering the classroom for the very first time. There great joy from the parents and community leaders to see the little ones being opportune to go to school. One of the elders said “now our future is sure. Praise God for this church it has indeed shown that their God is a loving and caring” Because of the large number of 4-6 years unschooled children coming for entrance to the school, it was agreed that the school operates only class one (First grade). So the 150 children are divided into a class of thre first grades of 50 pupils. There is a head teacher and three teachers and a cleaner who runs the school under the supervision of Pastor James MacCarthy representing the mission. The transformation of the Church from a mud edifice to a concrete has ensure a conducive atmosphere for worship.
- This has brought joy to the community and church membership has increased greatly. Now, members need not scout around the village for benches before coming to church. Enough benches are always awaiting them. PRAISE GOD!!
- May God be praised! At the just concluded Evangelical Fellowship of Sierra Leone (EFSL) national convention, our mission was accepted into membership of that body.
POINTERS FOR PRAYER
- Join us in prayer for God favour, grace and provision for all our national and international partners who continues to support us in many ways.
- As the mission grows rapidly, we need stronger leadership and an increased volunteers and workers. We therefore also need leadership training, materials and equipments for a successful ministry work.
- For God’s financial provision as the ministry leadership wishes to have at least two full time staff, an Administrator and a Ministry Director to supervise the day to day operations of the ministry, one in Freetown and another in Kono. The ministry is also seeking funding to begin to pay regular allowance for its pastors who are working so hard in Freetown.
- For our up coming national convention to be held in Koidu Town, Kono, Eastern Sierra Leone, form the 17th – 21st November 2004. The theme for the convention is “Lunching into the Deep” Luke 4:5. The convention shall focus on leadership training of its pastors and church workers. There shall be a business meeting on Saturday morning and sports activities in the afternoon.
- For God’s sustainability of the school and provision for other pending school profects in Korquima, Sawolla and Bangalow all area of the church location.
- For God’s provision for the purchasing of a van for the mission to ease coordination of the ministry to and from Kono and church planting work to Makina, Northern Sierra Leone
